Aron Edidin is a noteworthy contemporary
American
analytical
philosopher. He holds the position of Professor
of Philosophy at
New College of Florida. Edidin left a
tenured position at the University of Notre Dame to return to his
alma mater. He graduated from New College in 1973 with degrees in
Mathematics and Philosophy. He then received a ph.D in Philosophy
from Princeton University. His published articles in the field of
epistemology
are standard reading at the undergraduate and graduate levels at
many of the world's most elite colleges and universities, including
Harvard and
Oxford. He resides (as of
2006) in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Robin, and has one
daughter, Rachel.
Dr. Edidin loves to play ping pong, and he can
often be found playing ping pong with many of his students at the
New College of Florida student center
when not in the class room.
Edidin was the 2000 president of the
Florida Philosophical
Association. He delivered the presidential address, "A Little
Philosophy is a Dangerous Thing," in blank verse. see Edidin
