Arpita Mukherjee was one of the finalists of Fame Gurukul, one of the most watched Indian reality television shows. She ended up fourth in the rankings, much less than her expectations. Because she had been singing since childhood, she felt that she was much better than others, but ultimately failed to live up to her and others expectations.

After finishing her graduation in Eco-Honours from Delhi University, Arpita moved to Mumbai to make a career in the music industry. Inspite of not getting satisfying work in the industry for 2 years, her family always supported her financially as well as emotionally. She survived by doing small stage shows. After staying in the Gurukul for 15 weeks, life completely changed for Arpita. She got instant recognition and people from the industry started to notice her as a good singer and she has been offered many stage shows and music albums. She has become financially independent and stable now. If Arpita wouldn't have been a part of Fame Gurukul, then maybe she would have been still struggling in the Music Industry.
