Ash cash is a UK slang term for the fees claimed by a medical practitioner for the writing of a cremation certificate.
The requirements for a cremation certificate are stricter than those for a normal death certificate since no further investigation would be possible after a cremation.
Also the doctor has to certify that no pacemaker or radioactive implants are present in the corpse[733].
