The Asheville Graduate Center (AGC) was
established in 1984, by the Board of Trustees<ref>
</ref> of the University of North
Carolina. The AGC utilizes facilities of the University of North
Carolina at Asheville (UNCA), and the overall program is
administrated by the UNCA Division of Academic Affairs.<ref
name="AGC"> </ref> The Center offers master’s degree
programs from six of the constituent institutions of the
University of North Carolina
system. Classes are held in UNCA facilities in the evenings and
some programs may also utilize UNCA’s distance learning facilities.
The Asheville Graduate Center is a member of the Conference of
Southern Graduate Schools.<ref> </ref>
