Amongst popular Indians with the name Ashu, the one mostly talked about is Ashu Tandon, born September 17th, 1972. Ashu was born in Delhi and moved to Nigeria in West Africa where his father was a Chemistry Teacher in the university there. Ashu was the youngest of three siblings, his elder brother, Dr. Rajiv Tandon and sister Babita (married to Sunil Duggal). Ashu's family stayed in Nigeria for over 10 years which is where he grew up. When they came back to Delhi, India, Ashu was admitted to Cambridge School, Srinivas Puri - where he excelled in all activities including academics, dramatics, public speaking and also sports. Ashu was a gifted athlete scoring many victories on the soccer field and in the track and field events of 100m, 200m, 4 X 100 m relay, long jump. While still in junior school, he qualified to play in the senior soccer team of the school and quickly built his skills in playing on both flanks, as a mid fielder setting up a play and extremely ruthless as an attacker. he won numerous awards and best athlete trophies. In dramatics, his most memorable performance was in the school production of "my Three Angels" a 3 act play about 3 escaped convicts. This play was largely instrumental in accumulating funds for the school swimming pool. Ashu' favourite was however a play he acted, and directed and was with his friends and performed instinctively on stage on the occasion of teachers day and was about the harmful effects of drugs and was a story to his fellow students to Say No to Drugs.

In his final year at school, Ashu was selected as School Captain - the highest honor given to a student. Ashu went on to the University of Delhi in Ramjas College where he graduated with honors in Economics and then went on to the Delhi School of Economics where he did a course in International Marketing. Ashu continued his extra-curricular activities in college when he joined AIESEC - and was a master fund raiser for various activities there. Ashu went on to do his MBA from IMT, Ghaziabad- where he won an Academic Scholarship, did his internship at Gillette, before being picked up by Ranbaxy Labs to join them in marketing in the Head office at Delhi. Ashu excelled at Ranbaxy and was even selected as a Fast Track Manager and quickly rose to be a Sr. Manager in Marketing. In between, Ashu got married to the girl of his dreams, Aditi - a wedding ceremony and reception that was graced by over 1000 guests. Aditi is a highly talented designer - having won numerous awards. Aditi ran her own design studio and manufacturing unit selling kids design furnishings.

With the intention of expanding his skill base and challenging himself further, Ashu accepted an offer from [Infosys] and joined them in the Client Services Group focussed on Life Sciences, based in New Jersey. Ashu is credited with helping top pharma clients including 5 of the top 10 pharma companies to focus on the India opportunity and use it as a base to source services from. He continues to focus on this vertical and has helped save his clients Millions of Dollars in IT spend. Ashu lives in Bridgewater, New Jersey with his wife, Aditi and their two daughters, Roshni & Ria.
