Ashprihanal Pekka Aalto is a Finnish ultramarathon runner (born 1970) who began running as a hobby at age 25.[1]
One of the best multiday runners in the world ranked second all-time for 3100 miles 2006. For three straight years he ran all three yearly Self-Transcendence multidays in New York (six days, 3,100 miles (5,000 km), 700 miles)- a feat unprecedented in multiday annals.[1] He has won the Self-Transcendence3,100-mile (5,000 km)race six times, finishing the 2008 race on July 29, 2008 at 44 days 02:42:15 for a daily average of 70.278 miles (113.102 km). On October 29, 2006 Aalto finished the San Francisco One Day 24 hour endurance race in first place, logging just over 125 miles (201 km) in a 24 hour period.
He currently works as a courier.
