Football (soccer) in Queensland is organised by Football Queensland.

National Representation

The Brisbane Roar, who are not operated by the Football Queensland, were the only Queensland team to compete in the inaugral season of the national A-League, however, from the 2009-10 Hyundai A-League season onwards, two other clubs will join the Roar, Gold Coast United FC and North Queensland Fury FC[1].

Queensland State League

The Queensland State League (QSL) was set-up in 2008 in order to bridge the gap between the A-League and regional competitions. The QSL consists of a single division. There is no promotion or relegation in the QSL.

Below the QSL there are local competitions run in each of the regions.

Womens Football

Queensland Roar have a team in the national W-League that represent Queensland's female footballers.
