At Odds with God is a south florida death/black metal band.

both the brutality and the darkness themes of death and black metal as well as adding some haunting acoustic passages they create a unique and refreshing mix that has been missing in the south florida metal scene. Adding to the unique character of the band are the growls and screams of singer Nina Saile.

During the first period of the band in 2002, it was Diego Montoya (guitar) and Dario Camacho (drums) writing the original tracks to four of the total seven songs on "Earning Damnation". Due to lack of time of some band members,Diego started looking for other musicians to pursue his vision and finally found Alejandro Maya (guitar) Moises Lujan (drums) and Rob Stokes (bass) by the end of 2003. They started rewriting the existing songs by composing faster drum beats, adding odd time parts, speeding up the guitar riffs and composing haunting guitar solos. At Odds With God went trough a few vocalists until they found German/US Nina Saile in 2004, who had just moved from Sweden to South Florida. She adjusted some of the lyrics in the existing songs so they would resemble the bands philosophy, but only evolved completely by writing the words from scratch to the bands new songs "Thunder Of Wrath" and "Prey On the Weak".

At Odds With God's band name was created by Bass player Rob Stokes in order to emphasize the bands and each members general attitude in life : to perpetrate sonic and spiritual consciousness upon the listener in order to bring forth change in peoples perception of their being and attitudes. Nina Saile's lyrics accentuate that everything shall be questioned - truth is a concept of a three term relationship between statements/propositions, facts and a persons world views or historical and cultural statements. Nina: " Truth may begin with having doubts (being at odds with) about accepting beliefs, dogmata, morals and society itself. Destruction of old thought patterns and deconstructing belief systems might create a more self consciousness and fearless self ". That being said "God" is not the main criticism this band thrives for, more so everything that has an untouchable or impermissible status in our society and a persons life.
