ATHLETE is a 2009 sports documentary film directed by Dave Lam. The movie profiles four everyday athletes who train for marathons and triathlons. It examines how and why each individual balances family and life with the rigors of training.

• Jenny Hinshaw: 38-year-old Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer survivor; Team in Training member
• Artie Elefant: 61-year-old blind athlete (retinitis pigmentosa); Achilles Track Club member

Production

Filming began in September 2006 and lasted 12 months. Filmed on location in New York City, Syracuse, Lake Placid (NY), Long Branch (NJ), Miami, Jacksonville (FL), Raleigh-Durham (NC), Boone (NC), Lake Winnipesaukee (NH) and Washington DC.
