Atmora is a
fictional continent in the
The Elder Scrolls
universe. In the Elvish tongue Atmora means means "Elder Wood".
Recent Imperial Cartographer studies show that Atmora is a frozen,
unlivable place.
Atmora was once warmer but the continent was
still a icy place, populated by the
Nedes, which were organised into clans and fought in
civil wars for hundreds of years. More than 4000 years ago, a man
named Ysgramor was exiled towards the distant continent of
Tamriel. He founded the
capital city of Saarthal, which was soon razed by the Snow Elves,
or
Falmer. Ysgramor then returned to
Atmora with his two sons, and raised an army of 500 Nedic warriors,
to take revenge against the Snow Elves, which almost became
extinct. Ysgramor founded
Skyrim, the first human kingdom of Tamriel.
Most
Nedes moved to Skyrim, altough a small group stayed. Skyrim and
Atmora were seemingly on bad terms, since Atmora plagued north
Skyrim with raids though most of the first era. The last Nede
'raid' (late in the 1E) was two ships, filled with the dead. The
Nedes on the ships not dead surended, and were either killed or
inbred with the Nords. This is also the last record of the live
Nedes.
