Attention Addiction Disorder (AAD) is a medical condition initially appearing in childhood which manifests itself with symptoms such as hyperactivity, addictiveness, narcolepsy, extroverted and egotistical behaviour.[1] An individual inflicted with AAD will also manifest the condition in a physical sense through repetitious close contact with people in social situations and an impulse to modulate repetitive noises. It is considered similar to Attention Deficit Disorder(ADD)/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD)[2], however its potential for harm to the individual is considered greater due to the elements of addiction and gambling it can imbue. In neurological terms, AAD is considered to be a persistent and chronic syndrome for which no medical cure is available.

Amongst the medical profession and within society, there is disagreement if a diagnosis denotes a genuine impairment/disability or simply serves as a label for different but normal behaviour[citation needed]. Some believe that the disorder does not exist or that it need not be treated.
