Austin Robert Butler (born August 17, 1991) is an American actor and singer best known for his role as James Garrett on the Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101 and as Jake Pearson in Aliens in the Attic.

Butler was born in Anaheim, California to Lori and David Butler. He has an older sister, Ashley, who has done background acting with him in [[Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide]].
When Butler was thirteen, he was approached by a representative from a background-acting management company at the Orange County Fair, who helped him get started in the entertainment industry. He found that he really enjoyed it, and began taking a few acting classes.
In 2005, Butler landed his first role on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, playing the role of Zippy Brewster. His friend on the show, Lindsey Shaw, introduced him to her manager, who offered to represent him. Starting from that day he's been represented by the same manager as Lindsey.
Two years later in 2007, Butler landed his second role in the movie The Faithful playing the role of a dog, Danny, who later turns into a human being. In the same year, Butler landed a guest star role in the TV show Hannah Montana opposite actress Miley Cyrus, playing the role of Derek Hanson. Also in 2007, he portray "Jake Krandle" in the new Nickelodeon series iCarly. His first episode was called "iLike Jake."
In 2008, Butler guest starred in Zoey 101 playing the love interest of Jamie Spears' role Zoey. The same year, he appeared in Out of Jimmy's Head playing Lance in the episode titled "Princess".
Butler appeared in the 2009 20th Century Fox’s family adventure movie Aliens in the Attic, portraying Jake Pearson, alongside Ashley Tisdale, Carter Jenkins, Robert Hoffman, Kevin Nealon and Doris Roberts. In the movie, his character, along with his family, battles to save their vacation home and the world from an alien invasion. Also in 2009, he was cast in the role of Jordan Gallagher on the TV show Ruby & The Rockits, starring his good friend Alexa Vega. He portrayed the cousin of Alexa's character Ruby, whom he has a crush on, reasoning that it was because he never grew up with her. The show was canceled after 10 episodes. Butler appeared on the TV series Zeke and Luther in the episode "Adventure Boy", playing the role of Rutger Murdock.
In 2010, Butler landed a recurring role in the new CW network series Life Unexpected. He also appeared in a Wizards Of Waverly Place episode entitled "Positive Alex".
Butler performed a song on iCarly when he guest starred.
Butler appeared in singles from the Ruby and The Rockits Series. These singles were released through iTunes.
