The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) was formed in 1999 by Greg Bownds and Robert Jones to provide quality live pro-wrestling events to the Australian public.

The AWF product consists of action packed, visually spectacular professional wrestling events that utilize wrestling talent from Australia and abroad. AWF events feature matches, interviews and storylines incorporating all of the hype that is pro-wrestling today.

AWF live events are frequently promoted out of Club, Sporting and Community venues, as well as part of outdoor concerts, festivals and presentations. All events are conducted under the guidelines set out by the Department of Sport and Recreation to ensure the safety and cover needed for our fans, performers, and venues. To date AWF has promoted shows in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and WA.

Our talent ranges from serious performers, to zany colourful characters, and they come in all shapes and sizes. One thing remains common in all of our athletes and that is their enthusiasm, and the lengths they will go to captivate, entertain and enthrall our audience.

All AWF wrestling talent is professionally trained, and our performers keep their skills refreshed by working out regularly at Australia 's premier pro-wrestling training facility the AWF School of Pro-Wrestling based in St Andrews, NSW. The school has trained over 50 students, and is the school of choice in Australia for any aspiring wrestler.

The AWF office is based in Dulwich Hill, NSW, our postal address is PO Box 473, Plumpton, NSW, 2148, and our phone number is 0410 691 377.

Our Championships Titles are the AWF Australian Championship, which is an open division title, and the Young Lion's Championship, which is for competitors 25 years old and under.

AWF appreciates the support of its passionate and loyal fan base, and will continue to strive to provide them with exciting pro-wrestling action.

The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) brings live pro-wrestling back to the Newcastle area with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action at Cardiff Panthers on Friday 23 March, for an 8 bout mega card entitled “International Showdown”. The event will showcase a huge evening of cutting edge pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and an international visitors.

AWF Wrestling made its debut at Cardiff Panthers on 7 January to a pumped up sell out crowd of 500 rabid fans, and put on a memorable afternoon of pro-wrestling action, where at the conclusion, Australia’s TNT defeated Japan’s Cima for the AWF Australasian Championship. After the bout the scene was set for the main event of “International Showdown” as TNT told fans he would be ready for his opponent, the USA’s Steve Corino, and would make Australia proud.

Eight huge bouts are scheduled for the massive “International Showdown” super card at Cardiff Panthers. The main event, worthy of headlining any independent wrestling show in the world will see the AWF Australasian Championship up for grabs, with current champion, Australia’s most explosive wrestler TNT, taking on direct from the USA, “The King of Old School” Steve Corino.
Corino has won Championships all over the world including, Japan, England and USA. He is a former ECW and Zero-1 World Champion. He is the current AWA World Champion. He has however never challenged for the AWF Championship, or won an Australian Title, hence making this a historic meeting.

The current AWF Champion TNT has been facing the toughest competition on offer and defeated Japan’s top wrestler Cima in a heart stopping battle at the last Cardiff event. TNT will no doubt have to bring all of his explosive moves to defeat the crafty Corino and remain AWF champion. Australia Vs USA. This will be a battle to be remembered.

Along with the heart stopping main event, a huge undercard is also planned that will have AWF fans buzzing. At the “New Year’s Revolution” January event “The Canadian Hellraiser” Jason Helton answered the post match challenge of Steve Ravenous setting up an international challenge match for 23 March. Both men are pumped up and ready to put on a hard hitting bout as the semi main event for the evening.

In other exciting action “High Flying” Mark Hilton will make his Cardiff debut facing wicked clown Il Cognito, “The Biggest Winner” the 160 kilogram Massive Q will face the rapping JT Robinson, a Young Lion’s Title defense will take place featuring the dancing champion, Scotty Club against the force that is “Powerhouse” Theo, Bluey Bonza will battle Lebo Ceda in an Australia Vs Lebanon bout plus there will be fast paced tag team action, and a special Young Lion’s 6 Way Contenders bout.

The “International Showdown” event is sure to be a blow away evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night of exciting wrestling action be sure to make it along and support the Australian Wrestling Federation at Cardiff Panthers.

We advise to book very early to avoid disappointment as the January Cardiff AWF event was a complete sell out and 50 fans were unfortunately turned away at the door. This event is highly anticipated, so book early to get your seat to the hottest ticket in town.
