In Egyptian mythology, Avengers are the servants of the god Horus, possess the head of a hawk, often carried two large golden sabres. Avengers were said to be capable of leaping into battle or summoning a sandstorm to cover their movements to another location rapidly.

It is briefly mentioned in the Book of the Dead. It is also featured in the game Age of Mythology.

Avengers are also being used in a forum called the RP Symposium by a character who's using them for a mythical creature.
