Avidian is a CRM software vendor founded by James Wong and Tim Nguyen
in Seattle, WA whose main product is Avidian Prophet. Prophet is a .net
implementation of CRM that runs entirely within Microsoft
Outlook.
Prophet uses identifiers in the mileage field of
contacts in outlook to match contacts to extended information
stored within the prophet software itself.
Avidian Prophet
v2004
Prophet is an inexpensive Outlook based CRM
system. While the actual code resembles Outlook, Prophet borrows
lots of CRM functions from ACT 2000. Prophet is targeted at small
and medium-sized organizations who need CRM functions without the
typical complexity of configuring CRM. On the down side, it does
not provide many of the popular features in ACT or Goldmine.
Avidian also hired a number of affiliates to sell this product.
However, they stopped paying commission for no reason. There are
lots of complaints, including a lawsuit that threatens the
continuing operations of the company.
