"Ayal" is the hebrew name for a kind of deer,hart. Mentioned in
Psalms 42,1: "ke-ayal taarog al afikei maim - cen nafshi taarog
eleicha elohim" (As the hart panteth after the water books, so
panteth my soul after thee, O God). "Ayal" is used as a common
name in Israel, first and second, but usually pronounced wrongly
"Eyal" (a word which have another meaning - power, but people
usually mean to the animal).
