Azerification is a term used to describe a
cultural change in which something ethnically non-Azerbaijani is
made to become Azerbaijani.
The term is often used in relation
to Armenians. During
the time of the Soviet Union, Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh
accused the government of the Azerbaijan SSR of pursuing a policy of
Azerification, that is settling Azerbaijanis in the predominantly
ethnic Armenian area of Nagorno-Karabakh.[732]
