Biological Organic
Weapon (also known as Bio-Weapon
and Bio-Organic Weapon) three-letter
acronym used in Capcom's survival horror video gameseriesResident
Evil. The acronym stands for "Bio-Organic Weapon" and is any
creature which is
deliberately infected with a mutagenic viral agent such as the
T-Virus and
G-Virus for the purpose
of being turned into a biological weapon. Creatures which undergo
secondhand infection and transformation are not officially
considered B.O.W.'s
Known B.O.W.s
Resident Evil 0:
Eliminator-Ape mutated with the Progenitor Virus, adding
hearing ability at the cost of impairing the visual skills of the
creature. According to Marcus' report on Progenitor Virus-based
B.O.W.s, they are the result of the increased fertility experiments
on apes. They are exceedingly resilient to damage, and tend to
attack in packs. Shotgun blasts are particularly effective against
them.
Lurker- Frog
mutated with the Progenitor Virus, exponentially increasing its
mass and size, in addition to the enhaced tongue ability. Drawbacks
include poor eyesight, even poorer stamina and repeteadly lashing
its tongue randomly at all moving things. A knife slash is usually
enough to kill them.
Plague Crawler- Cockroach mutated with the
Progenitor Virus, it was expanded by the virus to the extent of
measuring roughly five feet in length, and increasing its defensive
capabilities by improving the chitinous carapace of the being.
Common tactics to be taken include shotgun blasts, which topple
them.
