BA Johnston,or
Christen Johnston
born in
Hamilton, Ont
and based in
Halifax,
NS. He has received airtime across Canada in the independent music
scene particularly on university radio stations. His songs are
often emotional and deal with the distress and problems associated
with pursuing an unfulfilling lifestyle, and loneliness. BA's
musical style is significant amongst the Canadian One-man-band
genre. He has performed several tours across Canada includeing the
2005
"No Fans, No Money, No Chicks, No Car Mega Tour". He
has also performed at: the Townehouse Tavern in Sudbury, Ont., the
Blue Room in Peterborough, Ont., and even down to Ohio,
USA.
Despite BA's catchy lyrics, "I frown on the term
singer-songwriter," he says. "It sounds lame, so very lame. It
reminds me of people singing songs about unicorns."
[839]Since
2005, BA has thrown himself a birthday bash at Gus Pub on January
19-20th in Halifax, NS. As part of the bash he has hosted various
local acts such as in 2006's lineup including the maynards, the
stance, die bruke, windom earle, brent randall, and old man
leudeke.
[840]BA appeared on Halifax
CKDU's
Let's Get Baked
with Matt & Dave on Thursday, February 1st, 2007 where the
specialty dish was
