Babies is a documentary film by Thomas Balmes, depicting the first year of four infants growing up in Mongolia, Namibia, San Francisco and Tokyo, respectively. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States by Focus Features in spring of 2010.
The trailer for Babies was attached to the 2009 films Planet 51, Amelia, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Where the Wild Things Are and The Blind Side. It featured the song "The Perpetual Self, Or 'What Would Saul Alinsky Do?'" by Sufjan Stevens. The film is rated PG.
