"Baby Love" is a popR&B song written by American singer Nicole Scherzinger, Kara DioGuardi, Keith Harris, and William "will.i.am" Adams for Scherzinger's debut solo album, Her Name Is Nicole (2009). It was produced by will.i.am who also provided guest vocals and released as the album's lead single in Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America. However, the song served as the album's second single in North America where it was released to iTunes on September 10, 2007 (see 2007 in music). The song was re-recorded and was added to the KIIS-FM Los Angeles playlist. Despite poor domestic sales, the single was doing well outside of the United States.

The song was used for German Vybemobile's TV commercial and Samsung's campaign.[1]

The song is included on both editions of Doll Domination in France. It is listed as an original song, performed by Nicole Scherzinger and will.i.am on the Deluxe Edition and is listed as the "Final Version" on the standard edition. The version on the album is the official remix of the song by J. R. Rotem with slightly edited background vocals.

Music video

The music video made its premiere via MuchMusic's MuchOnDemand on September 24, 2007.

The video starts Scherzinger watch a video with a notebook. Then we can see Scherzinger wake up on a boat with her love interest, in which they move around the boat taping each other. The sequence then moves to a beach where her love interest is once again video taping her with will.i.am making an appearance. Lastly, Scherzinger has a seminude appearance in the video.

The video was shot on Catalina Island, California, and was directed by Francis Lawrence.

A scene of the music video was used as a campaign of Samsung DV Cam.

Chart performance

"Baby Love" was not a commercial success in the United States, reaching a low number one-hundred and eight on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite this, the single achieved reasonable success outside of the United States, particularly in Europe. This is likely due to Scherzinger's performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 on November 1, 2007, in which she sang the song with will.i.am, the producer and featured artist of the song. The song also debuted in the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart, later peaking at number fourteen. In Germany, one of the biggest European music markets, the song peaked at number five.

Although the song was not successful on the Billboard Hot 100, it reached number four on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play.
