Bachelor of Computer and Math Science
(
BCM) is an
undergraduate academic degree awarded to a student
after three years of studying
computer science,
information
technology and/or
mathematics at an accredited
university in
Australia (other countries may
offer this degree, this is unknown at the time of writing).
A
Bachelor of Computer and Math Science is a flexible
academic degree
allowing a double major combining majors within the fields of
Computer
Science,
Mathematics and
Information
Technology, as well as other approved subject areas within the
university. Third year units in Computer Science particularly,
offer a wide range of future study interests, including
Robotics,
Management and
ProgrammingTherefore this degree is
considered one of the most flexible degrees in the 'sciences',
allowing such diverse majors as
Pure Mathematics and
History or
Mechanical
Engineering and
French.
This degree is currently offered
at the
University of Western
Australia under the Faculty of
Engineering,
Computing and
Maths.
Students must complete two majors in the
Bachelor of Computer and Math Science. The first major must be one
of the following from the School of Computer Science and Software
Engineering:
Computer Science Information Technology
SystemsInformation Technology Applicationsor
One of the
following 7 from the School of Mathematics and
Statistics:
Applied Mathematics:Pure MathematicsMathematics

from any of the above or any available within the University.
