From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The town of Kalabagh was an estate owned by the Nawab of Kalabagh. but under the control of the Government of Pakistan. It was not a princely state, but instead was a jagir.

The nawabs were known for their cruelty. An outburst of locals formed an underground association, named "Baghochi Mahaz", to give awareness to the local people regarding their rights and self respect. After a long period the power of the Nawabs came to an end when one of them killed Nawab Muzaffar in 1989 as a result of firing by another tribesman, Lal Must Khan of the Bani Afghan tribe.
