Balls of ore are an experimental electronic rock band from Cumbria, UK.
They are best known for their singles
Joe 90 and
Call the coastguard <br /> their music is an aggressive barrage of sound with little or no rest bite for the listener.
Their trademark sound is that of a heavily distorted guitar which can usually be found in most of their songs.
Biography
The band formed in late 2006 with 3 members after a chance meeting at a local job centre.<ref>http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=138739425</ref> <br />The band consists of:<br />
Mr Panaché (Guitars,keys,drum machines,vocals,bugle)<br />
Ace Pain (Vocals, synthesiser, keys)<br />
System 2000 (Vocals, synthesiser, keys)<br /><br /> The band played their first gig at the Kirkby community centre in December 2006.
After the gig
Shit-hot records representative Adam Garstang is said to have offered the band a crate of
Carlsberg to sign to his label.
The band signed that night.<br />After a few more gigs over the festive period the band began work in the recording studio and released the
Boo you suck EP in January to mixed reviews.
Months of inactivity followed.
The Band released their first full length album
Ball Ache in August 2007 and toured south Cumbria extensively to promote it.
The album received much more positive reviews than the EP.<br />The band are said to be on a break from recording until summer 2008.
