==Introduction==
Balwearie Juniors is a football side who train at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy. They play in the Fife Development League. They had a very good team until a great deal of the players left for new pastures and left the club with financial and player shortage problems, however, they have drastically improved over the last year and they are aiming high for this season which starts at the end of August. They have recently announced they have collected enough "Kits For Kids" tokens to purchase new strips and training wear etc.

Star players & short assessment

  • Scott Mullen - Can play in goals or up front, very reliable and rarely makes a mistake, an outstanding goalkeeper. Great debut against St. Johns.
  • Nick Hobson - A very strong , skillful midfielder with good pace and clever football brain.
  • Michael McGilly - Very aggressive midfielder who always succeeds in 50/50 tackles.

  • 2005/06 season

    The season finished too early in view of the manager and head coaches. A few decent results early on were about the only good things. Scott Mullen was already looking like an extraordinary signing and his arrival saw the return of 2 star players. Nick Hobson and Michael McGilly.
    The best result had to have been the 2-1 win at home to giants St. Johns who were occupying 2nd spot in the table. At the end of the season the lesser players were improving a lot and Balwearie started to look like a good team again, which might be a good omen for next season.

    Clubs success

    About 2-3 years ago the club were very good. The players were strong, fit and had good natural ability. However, some players started to leave and left the club in a great deal of trouble. They hardly had any players and they were not very healthy financially. So, the club opened it's doors to guys who would come along to training and see if they would like it here. A lot of them did but they were very poor, Euan , who started here due to the experimenting was one player who couldn't kick the ball and had no skill or any ability. About two years on and he has come on a great deal. He is now a very good young talent who is very competent wherever he plays. Over the last year the lads that were poor have came on leaps and bounds to become decent footballers and the team is getting stronger every day.

    Basic League Format & General Running Of The Club

    The Fife Youth Development Leagues are competitive leagues split into two divisions. The First Division and The Second Division. Each division contains ten teams who only play each other once. So the seasons don't last very long but they are frequent. The best team in the first division is Markinch (Nick and Scott's former club). The best team in Balwearie's division is probably Camdean. The matches now have an official referee and yellow cards, red cards and the offside rule are all used.
