Most memorable roles

The Chronicles of Narnia

Barbara is best known for her work in The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe (1988) as the White Witch. Barbara starred in all of the miniseries firstly as the White Witch in The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, secondly for playing an old hag in Prince Caspian and finally playing the Green Lady in The Silver Chair. The coat that she wore to play the White Witch was actually made from pure nylon causing her to be very cold during the filming. No birds had been killed for the coat.

The Sea Wolves

Before The Chronicles of Narnia, Barbara played another baddie who was a mysterious English lady named Mrs Cromwell. Mrs Cromwell, who was really a German spy, pretended to be in love with Captain Gavin Stewart (Roger Moore) and towards the end of the movie she tries to stab him with a pen knife, that she'd kept in her handbag. But (Capt. Gavin Stewart) saw what she was up to and just before she tried to stab him, he turned the knife towards her stomach and stabbed her instead. See Mrs Cromwell dead in this picture [1].

Filmography

Barbara Kellerman also appeared on a breakfast show in 1988 with actress Sophie Wilcox. This breakfast clip is shown on the BBC Chronicles of Narnia DVD boxed set on bonus disc.
