Barbara Miller-Moro
Barbara Miller-Moro (b. May 8, 1973, Hollywood, California) is a filmmaker and artist.

Beginnings



Barbara Miller-Moro, also known as “Bobbi” was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Born to Steven and Melody Miller (mother is Spanish), she is an only child. Bobbi is also a direct descendant of Richard Stockton (NJ) , also known as; “The Signer’’ of The Declaration of Independence whom was one of the few signers that was probably captured and imprisoned just for having signed the Declaration Of Independence.

Her lineage also includes a marriage between Richard Stockton’s young daughter
Julia Stockton and Declaration of Independence signer Benjamin Rush in January 2, 1776. His earliest instructor was his uncle, Reverend Samuel Finley.( Rush was, in fact, a graduate of Finley's West Nottingham Academy, as was Richard Stockton. The school still stands today as the oldest boarding school in the U.S. - Rusty Eder History Chair, West Nottingham Academy) , who subsequently became the president of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) and prepared young Benjamin for that college. He attended medical lectures in England and in Paris, where he enjoyed the friendship of Benjamin Franklin, who advanced money to pay Rush's expenses.

Bobbi’s ancestor, Rachel Stockton, daughter of Thomas Stockton, married
George Washington Roper, linking Bobbi to George Washington, the
First President of The United States of America. The Stockton-Miller family includes among it’s members many who have been conspicuous in the early development of America, who fought with courage and fidelity as occasion demanded, and braved the dangers of residence of a developing America.

Her paternal Grandfather, Thomas Stockton by name, was a brother of that Richard “Signer” Stockton. Thomas Stockton was an old settler in Virginia, who later removed with Daniel Boon to east Tennessee, and located in Stockton Valley. He participated in the Oklahoma Run, and settled there. His son Robert Stockton was a courageous soldier in the war of 1812. He was a farmer most of his active and industrious life. Joseph M. Stockton his son was enlisted in Company I,.44, Ill. Infantry.

The Miller’s owned the largest wheat mills in The America’s in the late 1800's, calling themselves Miller’s Mills.
Barbara is also descendant of Spaniards on her mother's side, who settled in British Honduras in the 19th century as coffee plantation owners in the mountains of Santa Barbara. Their plantation was el Prado Norte.

Her grandfather on her father's side, Robert Ellis Miller was an inventor, and was the first of three generations of Lockeed Air Inc buyers. Inventing such items like the ingredients of Raid, an insect killer, also he was one of the founders of the first drive-thru restaraunts in Burbank, California. Most notable known for being married to the neice of Hedda Hopper, Jane Fury.
Her grandmother was Ellen Miller one of the first ever female cartoon animators that worked for Disney Animation had a hand at creating the classic Cinderella, Bambi, and Snow White. Her artistic creativity most definitly was inspired from her grandmother.

Current



Barbara Miller-Moro has been an avid artist working with acrylics and water-color, pencil and pen and ink her entire life, winning many first place awards. Her work was also exhibited in galleries in Riverside, California.

She was a Reserve Sheriff Officer for The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Being that she spent a large part of her childhood in Hollywood, California she was always a great admirer of the cinema. Her aunt on the Miller side was the great Hollywood columnist Hedda Hopper.

Following her interest in acting, she did numerous acting roles including a short film called Artistic License with her children. Bobbi is actively pursuing her own filmmaking career. She recently portrayed the wife of her real life husband, Cuban American filmmaker Luis Moro in the film Love and Suicide (2003) , shot in Havana, Cuba. She is also the co-producer, on the film The Unseen (2005).

Through her many travels, including an extreme expedition reality show in Vericruz, Mexico , "Extreme Expedition- Model Behavior", she has encountered many people living in deplorable conditions. The trip to Havana, Cuba was one of those trips
that caused her to support her husband in the on-going conversations to end the Embargo on Cuba. She is actively involved in the cause.

The founder, and designer of novelty gifts, and apparel on website www.ThankGodForMommy.com, she paints everything by hand. Bobbi lives with her husband, Luis Moro and five children in Los Angeles, California.
