Battle Opera Gunmech (also Gunmech) is a science fiction universe created by Bryan Ierardi and Christopher Bates for Magnetic Entertainment.
Set in a future era circa 2138, Battle Opera Gunmech is the story of the men and women of the Terran Alliance Defense-Force (TAD-F) who live and breathe Combat Mecha technology every day.
The workhorse combat vehicle in this universe is the gunmech, a bipedal combat mech flown by human pilots.
A number of breakthroughs in the late 2000's brought about an explosion of human growth into the Solar System.
These major advances were primarily in the areas of propulsion, medicine, radiation protection, magnetic fields, gravity control, biomechterials and bulk cargo delivery.
By the early 2100's, a robust Central Commerce Sector (CCS) had emerged where most commerce and human activity took place.
Inevitably, the uneven distribution of corporanational influence over economic and political power centers began to challenge the ability of the Terran Alliance to maintain peace throughout the CCS and on out to the Outer Sectors.
As they fight against seditionary forces whose goal is to weaken the Allied grip on the resources of SOLSYS, the TAD-F's finest learn how to cope with the harsh realities of space war and the new dynamics of giant fighting machines.
In the process, they learn that there are heroes among their own.
Against the backdrop of a system-wide war, Gunmech is a tale of love, betrayal, danger, humanity, conspiracy and giant battling robots.
