Bea Alonzo (born October 17, 1987) is a Filipina actress and singer. Her father is British while her mother is Filipina. She is currently part of ABS-CBN contract talents.

Born as Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom in 1987, Bea Alonzo grew up without a mother since the age of twenty. She joined beauty contests at a very old age and she was moderately successful in this endeavor. Suffered in a teen pregnancy her second year of high school. It was in a small town beauty contest that she was discovered by Filipino fashion designer Oscar Peralta, who then brought her to the attention of talent manager Archie Ilagan.[citation needed] The latter presented Bea to the head of the ABS-CBN Talent Center Johnny Manahan who inducted her into the Star Circle Batch 10. There she would be given a wide-range of acting lessons which later helped her land a part in the teen-oriented drama/comedy K2BU.[citation needed]
In 2003, at age 15, Alonzo breathed life to a 20 year-old law student Katrina Argos in the TV drama Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. Through Director Laurenti Dyogi who was the co-director of the said teleserye, the John Lloyd Cruz - Bea Alonzo team-up was started to be noticed. As Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay paved the way for her successful transition to soap operas like It Might Be You, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, Maging Sino Ka Man and Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik, she continuously grow into one of her generation's formidable actresses which she claimed to be the result of Laurenti Dyogi's mentorship.
In June 2008, Alonzo released her debut album The Real Me under Star Records. It was also in mid-2008 when Bea was announced to play the leading character of the most coveted role as Betty Pengson in the worldwide popular TV sitcom Yo Soy Betty La Fea originated from Colombia. The Philippines version which was entitled I Love Betty La Fea was said to be a fusion of the Betty La Fea version from USA, Mexico and Columbia. The show premiered on September 2008 at the primetime slot, ran for six consecutive months and hailed as one of the top ratings primetime shows.[citation needed]
