"Beach lung" is the state in which deep breathing is hindered, somewhat painful, because of prolongued exposure to Sodium Chloride, or common salt.
Causes
This condition can arise from either:
1) Excessive intake of salt water (from the ocean) 2) Prolongued inhalation of air with high concentration of salt (occurs in the vicinity of oceans)
Treatment
The easiest way to get rid of "beach lung" is to leave the beach and give the alveoli, or lung cells, time to restore itself to a normal salinity.
