Beard Punk is a sub-genre of music which draws heavy influences
from Punk, Post Hardcore, Indie, Folk, Emo, and Pop Punk. Beard
punk is commonly associated with Gainesville, Florida based
independent record label No Idea Records.
Some notable bands
include Hot Water Music, Against Me!, Small Brown Bike, Glass and
Ashes,The Draft, and North Lincoln. Notable individuals within the
genre are Warren Oakes of Against Me!, Chuck Ragan formerly of Hot
Water Music, Ben Turner of Tribute to Nothing and Iain Perkins of
Hold Fast
