A
Very Special Community:
We would like to extend a very
special thank you to all the members of our school community who
generously donated to the New Canadians’ reception on Citizenship
Day. The response was overwhelming and we were very pleased with
your support. It is wonderful to work in a community where our
school receive so much support. Our ceremony was a great learning
experience for our students and they played an important part in
the ceremony as they reaffirmed their Canadian Citizenship.
Tribute to Our Volunteers:
This month we will be honouring
our volunteers. These people are a very special part of our school.
They might think they only do a small job helping out, but when we
have as many helpful volunteers as we do it adds up to be a large
contribution to our school. We have moms, dads, grandparents, and
community members who come into the school and help in various
ways. Without these special people we would not have our safe
arrival program, breakfast program, hot lunch program, reading with
the students, trip volunteers, classroom helpers and library
helpers.
We want to express our sincere thanks for all you do
for Beaver Bank-Monarch Drive School and its students.
Only
3 weeks to the Spring Fair!!
It is count down to the spring
fair. We are still looking for volunteers to work events and help
with setup and cleanup tasks. Another sheet has gone home to ask
for your help, if you are able to assist, please indicate how you
can help on the sheet and return it to your child’s teacher. The
more volunteers we have the more efficiently the day will flow. The
fair will open at 10 am and go until 2 pm. At 1 pm the activities
inside the school will close and we will draw for the penny auction
baskets and the silent auction. The outside activities will
continue until 2 pm.
We have had a good response of items
donated by businesses in the community and from parents who work
for businesses outside our community. We truly appreciate your help
with these items.
Tickets are available for the Wii, a 12 speed
mountain bicycle and the 50/50 draw. These will also be sold at the
fair and drawn for on the day of the fair. Please have all tickets
sent back to the school not later than May 25th.
