Bebe (Binyamin) Green (Hebrew: בֶּבֶּה גְרִין) also known as "StagaBeBe" (born: October 25, 1972) is an Israeli news anchorman and talk show host, most famous for his program "The Bebe Show".
He has interviewed many of Israel's rich and famous.
Green also owns the Jazz Bar & Grill "Bebe's", located in downtown Jerusalem. The bar has developed from the successful catering chain "To the extent of a King".

Biography ==
Benyamin Aviad Green was born in Jerusalem. He grew up in Neve Daniel, a small town in the Yehuda and Shomron region. He started high school at an American Jewish orthodox school named Orot Yehuda (Judah's lights) and after two years of exhausting long days he decided to leave and moved to the Hartman High School. There he met Yoni Schwartz who was first to appear on the "Bebe show" as a leading Bassist.

As a result of the free time he had since he changed schools, he joined the Yellow Submarine music school. There he was influenced to start learning Jazz, but a short time later he began studying Classical Music with Chanan Fienstien, the greatest Israeli classical guitar teacher.
Green has also dealt with rock music in the style of Metallica, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater. During high school he had his own band, named Monitor that he established with his childhood friend Shaked Shammah (bass & flute); but after six months he abandoned the effort, claiming it was a "total failure".

Despite his major efforts and hours of practicing he failed to get the Outstanding Musician title rewarded by the Israeli army, which exempts one from full military service. Before he was recruited to the army, he spent seven months working and traveling in the USA.

In the army, Green undertook the prestigious flight course. A short time before the end of the course he was removed and he completed his service in the technical force where he learned how to host a show.

==The Bebe Show

The Beginning

The Bebe Show was first aired on the Israeli TV in the fall of 1991. Starting as a late night Talkshow, The Bebe show now includes exclusive interviews with the most interesting people of the time (see Famous Guests who appeared on the Bebe Show) and original Bebe Slap Stick humor.

September 11

Green was the first Israeli show host to interpetate the September 11 attacks in a humoristic light. His famous line, "It's a plane!!!!-just kidding..." (Hebrew: זה מטוס!!!-סתם...), almost got him fired.
Bebe apologized live on air for his lost sense of humor. After the September 11 incident, Green stopped making fun of terrorists attacks on the show.

Popularity

Green, who started as the top entertainer in his school, is becoming the top entertainer in his country. His rating increased tremendously after he was moved from 23:30 to 19:30 and primetime.
The 2007 New Years issue of the Maariv newspaper counted him as one of the hundred most dominant figures of Israeli culture.

  • The Book

    In 2002 Green put out the "BeBe Book" or the "BBB" for short. The book is a collection of Green's best jokes and interviews along the years. A bonus DVD was given with the first 10,000 copies. The most interesting thing about the book was it's cover - on the cover there was a picture of a rather large Digital Camera.

    Quotes From the Book

  • "If only I had a Monkey..." (Michael Winters)

  • "Hey Bebe! do your dance!" (James Brown)

  • Influences and Mentors

    Green was influenced by many of the major TV stars, most notably by people such as David Letterman, Jay Leno and Sacha Baron Cohen. Green was influenced in a different way from Elmo from Sesame Street. He owes most of his backstage knowledge to Jerry Seinfeld's producing work on the Seinfeld show.

    Car Collection

    Unlike other respected TV personnels, Green leads a modest life style and is still loyal to his 1979 Opel Corsa which he inherited from his beloved father. He was quoted saying that the car's gas consumption is 16-19 Kilometers per liter(!).
