Introduction

BeDesk is a web operating system or WebOS based on Bindows and developed by Oh!STUDIO Media Solutions.

The philosophy is to build a wrapper for other online tools.

The primary goal is to develop a social desktop in where the users can use his favorites web applications in a windows look-and-feel and share them with other users.

Arvidsson was the creator of Bindows, a framework very similar to the WebOS API, that does much of this and is used by many large companies and the US Military.

History

BeDesk was conceived in May 2007. BeDesk uses the power of Bindows:
This AJAX framework provide us a true Windows look-and-feel, zero-footprint, Unified design methodology, complete separation between server and client development, and ssl tested.

In 04 June MB Technologies otorg to BeDesk a free license.

The project is in Sourceforge and it's open to anyone who want to improve the software.

The Difference

BeDesk make use of the previous knowledge of the users in a multiple windows enviroment.

BeDesk don't reinvet the popular desktop applications, use the existing web applications and integrate them in a collaboration enviroment.

BeDesk believe in social applications user - user.

Right now

The user can generate his own bookmark in a menu app like.

He has a social menu in where any user can put your favorite website in the appropiate category.
