Belarusian Wikipedia (Belarussian: Беларуская Вікіпэдыя) - is the Belarusian language version of Wikipedia.

The original Belarusian Wikipedia started on August 12 2004. It passed the milestone of 5,000 articles on September 29 2006. On March 28, just before its dismantling, it had 6841 articles.
As of April 4, 2007, the new version has 3565 articles.

The original wikipedia had used the writing rules created by Bronislav Tarashkevich in 1921; since that time, the Belarussian authorities have made several reforms, each time bringing the spelling of Belarussian a little closer to Russian. The proponents of the latest "normative" writing system of the language had long had their "alternative" variant running alongside the main one, which had about half as many articles (3000 vs. 6000). On March 28, 2007, they convinced the administration to have the "normative" version replace the original wikipedia, which was moved along with its 6841 articles, to "be-x-old.wikipedia.org". The editing feature in the old wikipedia was turned off. After the move, a large rise in vandalism of the new version has been reported. <ref> Белорусскоязычная Wikipedia – в центре скандала 28 March, 2007</ref>
