Ben Badofsky was awarded the IGFA Junior World Record at age 8 (Male, Smallfry Division) for the 50-pound roosterfish he single-handedly hooked and landed in March of 2002.

Ben was visiting the famed Tropic Star Lodge with his dad and grandfather, trolling the fertile waters of Pinas Bay when the burly rooster latched onto Ben's Rapala lure. It took nearly forty minutes, but Ben's will and sheer determination finally paid off, and the fish was ultimately brought into gaffing range.
