Benjamin Alexander Cratsley was born on June, 30th 1987 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Herbert W. and Maria T.
Cratsley.
He attended St. Maurice Grade School is Forest Hills, PA and graduated in 2002.
At St. Maurice he stared on the schools basketball team leading the team in scoring his 8th grade year and also leading the school with its best year ever, recording a 27-3 (16-0) record and a section championship, This is when Ben first learned of his great playmaking ability and decided to use it for the greater good of mankind.
He later attened and graduated from the well known Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School.
Here Benjamin played football from 2002-2005 and was a member of Central's two WPIAL Championship team and one State Championship team (once again this shows Ben's amazing playmaking ability).
He was also a member of the basketball team for the year 2002 until 2005.
But Benjamin quit both this Senior year to concentrate on his make talent and the sport where he made the most plays, Volleyball.
Benjamin was a memeber of Central Catholic's respected volleyball team from 2002-2006 all 4 years being on the varsity squad.
He recieved all Section honors twice in this time period (2005 and 2006) and all-wpial honors once (2006), as well as leading the team in Kills, Cards, and Plays Made.
Benjamin also Played volleyball for the highly respected Pittburgh Elite Volleyball Club from 2004-2006, coming over from Renaissance Volleyball Club which he played for in the 2004 summer season.
Benjamin started on the 18 Black team in the 2005 Junior National Tournement where the team finished 11th in the Club divison and Ben once again lead his team in plays registering an amazing 450 plays made in the 10 games he played, about 1 play a minute (still a world record today).
In the summer of 2006 Benjamin came back to the national tournement as a vital member of a team ranked number 1 in the country.
This team however did not live up to expectations and fell down to 30th place in the tournement.
Benjamin recieved walk on offers for several colleges ranging from division I-division III, but decided to take his playmaking abilities to Grove City College in Grove City Pennsylvania, and major in Electrial Engineering.
However he found that Electrical Engineering constircted his playmaking ablities to much and switched to an accounting major at the end of his first semester.Benjamin plays and starts on the Grove City Men's Volleyball team were he once again leads the team in Plays Made, and currently switched his number from "21" to "12".
Grove City is ranked in the top 10 of the country and with a sophmore and freshman orentented team like they have lead by the dynamic playmaking abilities of Ben Cratsley, it looks as if they will stay there for awhile.
At college Ben became a beloved member on the Grove City community, espeially on his beloved hall, Thrid Floor Memorial Crawford Side.
Ben showed his playmaking abilities by dominating at several Intramural Sports in his freshman, such as football and volleyball, and coaching his halls Soccer team, the 3MC Magic Mud Dogs, to the Championship.
That being an unheard of accomplishment being that no freshman team has ever made it that far in the soccer season before, which once again proves the amazing playmaking ability of Ben Cratsley.
More impressive than even that though is the fact that Ben is the only known person to survive the M&M challenge.
The M&M challenge being something that his fellow hallmates of 3MC challenged him to do.
The challenge was as followed, Ben Cratsley could eat nothing but M&Ms for one week and drink nothing but Soft Drinks ("pop") and water, unless he had a volleyball practice, then he was allowed to drink a gatorade.
Ben completed this challenge with ease when many experts said that Ben should have been dead after the first few days, showing that he is in fact one of the greatest playmakers of all time.
When not making plays in school or on the field, Ben makes plays at his work, where he is an intern for State Senator Jay Costa, Jr. of the 43th distict in Pennsylvania.
He spends his day helping those who call and need assisntance as well and making the office day go by as smoothly as possible.
Ben is the most valuable playmaker (MVPM) in the office's long and storied history.
Ben is currently a freshman at Grove City College and is always making plays...
