Biography
Ben Jastatt played some form of musical instrument since grammar school.
He began recording and manipulating sound with two boom boxes and some sampled field recordings at age eight.
It wasn't until a few years later that R.E.M., the Dead Kennedy's, and Pink Floyd records inspired him to pick up the dust-covered classical guitar that had been sitting around his house for ages.
He has played, recorded, and produced music ever since.
He began pursuing a professional career in music production seriously in 2000, with the advent of the digital music revolution.
Jastatt formed a music production company and the rest is (recent) history.
Some of the bands Jastatt founded and played in are among the southeast's most popular performers.
Along the way he received a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies, worked as Ted Turner's Deputy Director of Communications, and traveled extensively.
His company is called Afire Music and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

They have a wealth of production music already on hand.

In 2006, he married Joanne Louis, who works for Turner Broadcasting System.
They are expecting their first child in March of 2007.
