Dr. Ben Marble, M.D. is a Mississippi Gulf Coast ER physician who gained instant fame due to his televised heckling of U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney on September 8, 2005 down the street from Dr. Marble's destroyed home in Gulfport, Ms. While returning to salvage what he could from his home, Marble was stopped by military police who refused to let him cross the train tracks approximately 150 feet from his home. He was told "No one can pass here". As he turned his nearly-out-of-gas moving van around the MP's let Dick Cheney's convoy of cars pass over the same train tracks. Upon encountering Vice President Cheney after taking the long way to his destroyed house, a frustrated Marble quoted Dick Cheney to Dick Cheney by shouting,

"Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney. Go fuck yourself, you asshole."

Marble was accompanied by his lifelong friend, Jay Scully, who shot the following video of the encounter

The quote was heard around the world as it was broadcast live via CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. Rolling Stone magazine called it the Best Televised Soundbite Of The Year. Time, Newsweek, and countless other magazines, tv shows covered the story making Marble an instant celebrity. Since then his website http://www.hurricanekatrinasucked.com has had over 3 million hits. A made for tv documentary is currently being produced featuring the before/during/after Katrina footage Marble shot himself and Dr. Marble will be appearing in the upcoming Spike Lee made-for-HBO documentary "When The Levee Broke".

Dr. Marble received a B.S. in Biomedical Science with minors in Chemistry and Psychology from the Univ. of South Alabama where he later attended medical school/completed residency. He is also an accomplished artist, award winning photographer, published writer, and accomplished musician.

Before gaining noteriety for that moment, Dr. Marble was already a somewhat infamous rock musician in the band dR. O with listeners in over 100 countries leading to more #1 songs on MP3.COM than any other band in the world. This led Yahoo Internet Life magazine to label dR. O the 'Supergroup of Cyberspace'. dR. O performed on 911 in New York City for 3 years in a row but missed this past year due to Hurricane Katrina. While not performing with dR. O he occasionally plays guitar in another rock band known as Yoon who recently had their debut performance at The Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles.
