β-Methylphenethylamine (β-Me-PEA) is a stimulant drug of the phenethylamine chemical class that is related to amphetamine (which is α-methylphenethylamine). It is found in many Acacia species, notably Acacia berlandieri (guajillo)[1]. β-Me-PEA is psychoactive in humans as the β-methyl group slows metabolism by the enzyme monoamine oxidase (MAO).
