BevelTech. The premier on-line resource for those requiring information on Ducatis made between 1971 and 1985 whereby the means of driving the overhead camshafts in the four-stroke engine was by bevel gears.
The Club BevelTech exists in its own right and boasts a membership including world-renowned Ducati authors and photographers, it is recognized by Ducati S.p.a. as an official Desmo Owners Club.
The Beveltechs have their origin in the Great Ducati Mailing List Schism of 2004.
Following a series of sometimes heated discussions regarding the gratuitous use of profanity on the Bevelheads email list, a small number of members were summarily removed from the list.
These members decided to start a virtual community where Ducatis, profanity, wine, cricket, personal abuse, and recipes utilising goat meat could be discussed without fear or favor.
The President is Tony Hannagan, a 50 year-old alcohol-dependent male residing in Melbourne Australia.
Membership: Membership to Beveltechs is exclusive and by invitation only.
Members of Beveltech come from all walks of life and from all continents.
Some of the member's achievements are the authorship of several authoritative texts on Ducatis and some of the best Ducati, ( and motorcycles in general) photography you will see at world class level.
Member's bikes range from lovingly restored examples of the marque, to highly modified bevel-driven specials.
Beveltechs is also rapidly becoming recognised as a world authority on wine and boasts the man most photographed whilst surrounded by empty bottles as a member.
Abused membership privileges are harshly punished.
