Bibles for America is a nonprofit organization[1] dedicated to the spread and understanding of the Bible. The Bibles for America mission is to distribute complimentary copies of the New Testament Recovery Version study Bible and related Christian literature to individuals in the United States.[2] The complimentary study Bible offered is translated from the original languages into modern English and contains aids authored by Witness Lee, such as footnotes, cross-references, maps, charts, and outlines. Bibles for America distributes the Recovery Version New Testament in English and Spanish.

History

Bibles for America (BfA) opened its office in Irvine, California in the spring of 2000. A group of Christians in southern California met together to pray and fellowship their desire that a modern-language study Bible would be distributed to individuals in southern California. BfA now distributes the New Testament Recovery version nationwide, with a stated goal of distributing one million copies of the Recovery Version New Testament by the year 2010.

Bibles for America chose to distribute the New Testament Recovery version.[1] It includes footnotes; scriptural cross-references; maps; charts; and outlines for each New Testament book.[2]

In 2010 Bibles for America began free distribution of ministry literature in hard copy and in downloadable electronic format.[4] Available for distribution are the following ministry books: The Basic Elements of the Christian Life I, II and III, The All-Inclusive Christ, The Glorious Church, The Economy of God and The Knowledge of Life.
