Big Damn Funny is a humor webzine which was founded in 2000 by J. Thompson and Ryan Smith. After six months, Ryan Smith left and the site was soon retired.

After a five year hiatus, it was relaunched in 2005. Since then, the site has added to its original staff and expanded its direction. The site features mostly written humor and occasional videos. Unlike many humor portals (e.g. Ebaums_world), all the content is original with the notable exception of videos created by Doctor Delicious, a sketch comedy troupe who appear to have a partnership of sorts with Big Damn Funny.

Their mascott is known as Mal-Formed Johnny and is proudly declared to be a product of cheap art software. He is indicative of the look of the site, as it is relatively plain and quite utilitarian preferring to remain simple and minimalist over being flashy.

In late 2005, Big Damn Funny released their first book titled "Big Damn Book".
