== Bin Weevils ==



Bin Weevils is an online virtual community website. The site (a joint venture between Nickelodeon UK and Prism Entertainment) was launched in January 2004.

The Bin Weevils world comprises comedy-driven animated fun in which trillions of tiny weevils living in a bin argue constantly with each other.

The site allows kids to create their own unique Bin Weevil and design and personalise their own Bin Weevils Room. They then get to walk around and explore the bin in which they live! There are hundreds of other weevils all doing the same thing!

Within the Bin there are loads of games to play such as ‘Flem Darts’ and ‘Gong Olympics’. At the end of each game, the points are converted into “Bin Weevils Credits”. These credits can then be spent within the environment to purchase new items for their room.

As weevils wander around and explore the bin, they can also chat to other weevils using the pre-emptive or live monitored chat.

Cartoons

There are also many Bin Weevils animated cartoons which are regularly played on Nickelodeon .

Expansion

In January 2005, Bin Weevils began to expand into new territories. The territories being Sweden and Spain. This allowed Weevils from all over Europe to chat to one another using a pre-selected "dictionary" of common words.<ref> </ref>
