Biography of the Assistant Pastor & First Assistant Presiding
Bishop
Bishop Christopher F. Williams, D.D. is the Founder,
Chief Bishop, and Presiding Bishop of the ‘Army of Holiness
Pentecostal Assemblies of the Nations’, and President of the
General Board. Bishop Williams is the Founder and Pastor of the
‘New Praise Deliverance Cathedral T.A.O.H.P.A.O.T.N’.
The church
denomination and this local church were founded in the year of our
Lord 2007. His church roots began in the ‘Church of God in Christ’
which was founded by the late Bishop Charles Harrison Mason in 1897
and was incorporated in the year of 1907.
Bishop Williams was
converted on May 14th 2003, and was baptized on June 22nd 2003 by
his spiritual father, Elder Loran E. Mann, a Pentecostal Preacher,
who was pastoring the Pentecostal Temple Church, Inc. in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Beginning of Ministry
In 2004,
he began his Christian Ministry with accepting the task of teaching
a youth Sunday school class at the ‘First Church of God in Christ’
in Braddock, PA under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone Tillman Sr.
By the late part of 2005, Bishop Williams took a church trip to
Greensboro, NC to dedicate the new church building of ‘New
Jerusalem Cathedral’ under the leadership of Prophet Kevin A.
Williams. There he received a vision that would change his life
forever. The spirit of the Lord told him to go and start a church
and a new denomination in his name. God gave him two names which
would be used to identify his international body of baptized
believers and his international mother church. These names that
were revealed to him are as follows. The international church was
to be called, ‘The Army of Holiness Pentecostal Assemblies of The
Nations’ and the mother church was to be called ‘The New Praise
Deliverance Cathedral’. To further support this denominational
name, God gave him scripture. The scriptures used to support the
name of our denomination are as follows, (Army: 2Timothy 2:3- Thou
therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Holiness: 1Peter 1:16- Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am
holy. Pentecostal and Assemblies: Acts 2:1- And when the day of
Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. Nations: Matthew 28:19- Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: also Mark 16:15- And he said unto them, Go
ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.)
Having spent a year and a half teaching Sunday school, the Lord
officially called him to preach the unadulterated word of God. With
hesitation, Bishop Williams accepted His calling a half a year
later.
In 2006, Bishop C.F. Williams, in preparation for his
upcoming endeavor, fasted for five days each month until his
initial sermon. In fasting, he went without any food for the
duration of the entire time he was on the fast. Along with this
fast he did much praying and biblical study. On July 9th, 2006
Bishop Williams along with Minister Christopher Dowdy gave his
initial sermon at the Pentecostal Temple Church, Inc. His sermon
was in “Holiness” from Numbers 13:27&32-33 and Joshua 1:10-11.
After his initial sermon, he went on to do evangelism in the church
as well as in and among the Pittsburgh streets. Having waited on
the clergy board of Pentecostal Temple Church, Inc. to be licensed
and ordained God said it was time to disassociate with the
denomination in with the church serves as a member. On January 4th
2007, Bishop Williams was ordained as independent Christian clergy
by the World Christianship Ministries in Fresno, California. By
mandate and revelation, God told him to take the formal name of an
overseer. That same month, he was consecrated to that holy and
sacred office of Bishop.
The Founding the Denomination and
Mother Church
In 2007, Bishop Williams officially founded the
‘Army of Holiness Pentecostal Assemblies of the Nations’ and
officially made preparations to officially establish the mother
church, ‘New Praise Deliverance Cathedral’ in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. Under certain circumstances, ‘New Praise Deliverance
Cathedral’ will not be established in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but
will in 2008 be established in Charlotte, NC. The doctrinal
foundation, upon which this church of God was founded, is based on
the concept of Holiness. Scripturally in the Holy King James
Version Bible, it quotes in Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all
men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”. The
principles of this resurrected, Gospel truth and unadulterated
dogma is only the beginning to a world wide task. This denomination
is only one of two known of in the western Pennsylvania area that
takes this mandate, to preach holiness and cry aloud and spare not
seriously. The church that God has place among the people of the
United States and before the presence of the entire Christian
community will live out the truth of the Holy King James Version
Bible.
