Bisk Education
Bisk Education® located in
the United States, was founded by
Nathan M.
Bisk JD, CPA (FL) in 1971 and was the
first provider of distance education programs for CPAs and other
working adults. Since its inception, Bisk Education has grown to
become the nation’s largest exclusive facilitator of online degree
and certificate programs from the nation’s leading
universities.
History
Founded in 1971, Bisk Publishing,
now known as
Bisk
Education[1], initially provided CPA
Review seminars. Soon after, Bisk introduced
Bisk CPA
Review®[2] textbooks, which gave
accountants a convenient self-study test preparation for the
Uniform CPA Exam. Bisk Publishing then expanded into multimedia
training with the introduction of Totaltape QuikPass CPA Review and
CPE courses. Bisk’s CPA Review division has helped more than
140,000 candidates pass the CPA Exam. To help accounting
professionals meet their mandatory reporting requirements quickly
and conveniently, and gain the knowledge to excel in their
profession,
Bisk
CPEasy[3] was developed. Since its
inception, Bisk CPEasy has awarded over 14 million CPE credit hours
and currently offers over 300 multimedia continuing professional
education programs in a variety of formats, including online,
CD–ROM, video, DVD, audio and text. Today, Bisk CPEasy is America’s
best-selling CPE program for public and industry CPAs.
As the
Internet became more popular during the mid-1990s, Bisk Education
launched
University
Alliance®[4] (UA) to facilitate online
degree and certificate programs. This introduction allowed Bisk
Education to partner with leading universities to promote and
deliver associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as
individual courses and professional certificate programs online.
Currently, UA connects students to more than 20 degree and 15
certificate programs through their university partners.
Company
Bisk Education produces nationally acclaimed multimedia
and web-based study programs and educational products from its
company-owned 100,000 square-foot national headquarters situated on
a 10-acre campus in
Tampa, FL. The company has developed a proprietary
online Learning Management System (LMS) and e-learning technology
which is the common element for all programs, providing anytime,
anywhere, 24/7 online learning. The technology is also highly
customizable, giving the university and instructor the tools to
establish the optimum learning environment.
Bisk is totally
self-contained and has an in-house technology group consisting of
web developers, software engineers, network administrators, R&D
engineers, educational course designers and technical writers who
ensure the quality of each step of the process. In addition, Bisk
has complete state-of-the-art video production and audio recording
studios. When developing a course, these studios are used to record
the faculty member lectures for the partnering school. These video
lectures are then digitized and compressed into a format for
streaming over the Internet.

online learning provides working adults with end-to-end,
lifelong-learning solutions, allowing them to reach their personal
and professional goals through education.
