Since its launch, many have tried to clone Bitoogle or have simply scraped its results, only a few have been as successful in providing relevant results.
In August 2004, Smash made improvements to the original bitoogle search functions and re-released the bittorrent search engine under the name Yotoshi.
Currently the most advanced BitTorrent Search Engine would be Bitjax. It would by using the publicly released bitoogle core and comparing the results with the ranking on other BitTorrent Search engines.

In 2005 only 3 notable Bittorrent Search Engines have been produced.
