The Black Jacqueline is a Vodka based cocktail. It is made using 1 part Sambucca, 2 part Vodka and Coke, it is ideally served in a champagne flute with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

Sam Haskin was the inventor of the cocktail, whcih was made by accident at The Folly Inn pub. He named the cocktail after a friend who was present at the time on invention, Jacqueline Stay, although she had no actual input in making of the cocktail, the name was decided on because of its flavour. Similiar to that of Black Jack sweets.

After the incredible popularity of the drink the pair invented various other cocktails with a varying amount of success, but never managed to quite capture the magic that they did with the Black Jacqueline.

People often speak of the 'demise' of the Black Jacqueline, this came about after a bitter ownership battle between Sam Haskin and Jacqueline Stay. The drink was discontinued in most establishments which felt that Jacqueline Stay's actions were completely unjustified. After the ownership battle was finally resolved in July 2007, by Jacqueline admitting she had no input in the cocktail atall but simpily felt she ought to have some of the fame and wealth acquired by the actual inventor. There is now an impending court battle between the pair as to the rights of Jam Sacks.

Jam Sacks is a chain of cocktails opened by the pair to showcase their amazing selection of original cocktails. People often question Jacqueline's input into the company, with most people believing Sam Haskin is probably the sole inventor of many of the cocktails served

The best Black Jacqueline can still be found being served in Jam Sacks, the ever popular chain of cocktail bars opened up on the back of the unprecedented success of the Black Jacqueline.
