==Introduction==

A Role-Playing topic that exists on the Final Fantasy VI/III Social Board at GameFAQs. Started as more of a social area for conversation by Setsetuya, it soon evolved into a full-blown RP that is now well over 13 topics long (With each topic being capped at 500 posts, this means that the BMV is over 6,000 posts long, making it one of, if not -the-, longest running topics on GameFAQs.

The central setting of the BMV is, appropriately, the Black Mage Village, home to any who would defend it. Characters range from Time Mages to Sharpshooters to Guardians of Time to Half-Phoenix Warriors. The RP has gone through several storylines, two of the most recent briefly recounted below.

Sagas

The Seal Saga: Leo Darkheart (a character who formerly fought for good) searches for the 12 Seals which are the key to unlocking Judgement, a force that could destroy existence itself. Fighting against him are his former friends and new arrivals in the BMV. Seals were protected by people (including prominent villagers), objects, animals, and even a huge floating city. The Seal Saga marked one of the topic's most active times and arguably its finest.

The Zodiac Saga: An extra-terrestrial visitor bonds with a demonic presence to claim the Zodiacs, ancient demonic magic locked in the stars that could open the gate to the demonic world. The Zodiacs are scattered amongst the residents of the BMV, as well as the Enigma, another alien visitor and the last of his mysterious race.

Characters

Goyangeta: A visitor from another dimension, during his early days in the BMV he came into possession of the Rebirth Sigil. Upon his death at the hands of Dark Leo, he was ressurected by the power of the seal and his companion Phoenix, rising as a half-phoenix and gaining incredible power. He fights with his dual daggers Orichalcon and Zorlin's Shape who also happen to be visiting Gods intent on preventing the gathering of the Zodiacs. Goyangeta was killed once again upon Enigma's arrival as he restrained the massive energy released by his crash on the planet. He cheated death again thanks to Enigma's exact copy of his body that the alien used while in the BMV. A moment of weakness by Enigma caused Goya's spirit to spontaneously take the body over, establishing Goya as it's owner. Goyangeta presently is searching for the powers he seem to have lost while dead as well as coming to terms with his unwilling murder of Enigma.

Lachesis: First arrived in the Black Mage Village as a mechanic and engineer, but soon proved her prowess in battle as a Time/Space Mage. She is the only suviving member of her hometown, Quinten, which had been wiped out by a black hole. The oldest, still-active member of the BMV.

Haayko Anphi: The gunslinger with a heart of gold. He wanders around with his robot friend Hayato and Larry the Cat. His unorthodox fighting style and humorous antics always make battles much more interesting.

Ahren: A mysterious character who has traveled back in time. He carries four sentient blades with him.

Kornkin: He is the son of Shiva, Goddess of Ice. When he first became known to the inhabitants of the BMV, people were unsure what to make of him. He seemed abrasive. It wasn't just his blood that was cold, but his attitude and outlook as well. Eventually, he warmed up to the other heroes of the ages, and befriended them. Fighting together in multiple instances, he became stronger and gained new abilities. Kornkin is also a Blue Mage, capable of learning attacks used on him and performing them against his enemies. This, along with his complete control over cold and water, and being the son of a God, have left him very few weaknesses. Even fire, magma and unihabitable heat has no negative effect on Kornkin anymore, though being able to withstand the heat took years of training and honing himself. His whereabouts are currently unkown, he disapeared long ago. However, being the son of a goddess, he cannot die. His return is inevitable. The only question that remains is "when?"

StarNeptune: A Master Mage and the granddaughter of Neptune, she was orphaned due to a village fire as a child, and as such has an immense fear of fire. Her loyal companion is Dude the Chikorita. Current status: probably dead.

Draco Solfier: Draco made a brash and rather embarrassing entrance to the BMV, interfering in a dual, and then going off to challenge Xenoc by himself. A few attacks and one trap spell later, Xenoc tired of playing with him, and nearly obliterated him with the Solunar Strike. He was aided in this by the two spirit-swords at Draco’s side that hold the souls of his Grandmother and Cousin Alayna. Feeling that Draco had gotten much too cocky, then decided to use the attack to teach him some humility, shielding him from the brunt of the attack, but letting enough through to blast him into a hibernation state. They then teleported him into a cave nearby, where, two years later, he awakened and found out they had used the time to seal a great deal of his power. He then scryed backwards in time to watch what was going on, while they drilled him in using precision, not brute force. When they judged him ready, he opened a Rift back two years and eight days. After sleeping for a week, he spent a day gathering information, and then went to watch the battle in person. There was an attack by an army of demons, which the various members of the BMV handily defeated, and then a much stronger demon named Jackal showed up. Draco was attacked by one of it’s minions, a demonic jackal, and then hit by three more. In the tussle, Draco’s sword belt came loose, and he lost the spirit swords of his grandmother and cousin. Draco promptly went Slayer, which is part insanity, and part an incredible boost in power, both physical and magical. After retrieving the belt, and slaying the Jackals, he collapsed. He then awakened, only to be hammered back into the ground by one of Cyrus’s attacks. After Xenoc defeated Cyrus and took his Zodiac, he went off, and began a ritual to call the remaining Zodiacs. Draco, Lachesis, and a strange milkman attacked him, and he split into Damion and Xenoc, Damion fighting Draco, and Xenoc fighting Lachesis. After a great deal of fighting, the Zodiac Dracies was summoned, and Draco was facing a two-on-one fight. He then called on his power as the Guardian of Time to defeat Dracies. This prompted a metamorphosis in Xenoc and Damion, filling them with the power of all the Zodiacs. Draco countered by activating the trap spell that had been gathering power since his first battle with Xenoc. The spell obliterated the two demons, and for a second, it seemed the battle was over. Then the Zodiacs manifested as a pure energy being, the Zodiac Dragon. Draco opened a one way Rift to a prison outside of time, and dragged the demon through. There he and Lachesis began to fight it, until a strange voice called them both to where two lights had appeared soon after the Zodiac had come through. Leaving Ahren to distract the demon, Draco and Lachesis went to investigate, finding the two Omega Zodiacs, one red, one blue. These had not been tainted by demons, and could be used to fight the Zodiac by turning Draco and Lachesis into pure energy beings like their enemy. Draco and Lachesis accepted, and Draco gained the power to assume the form of one of the great Wyrms. He then flew back, intent on bringing an end to the Zodiac once and for all.
