Black Out is a band from
Hamilton,
Ontario,
Canada. They were founded in
1999 while the original members
Mike Stradwick,
Jenna
Silberberg and
Stephen Naumann were still in high school,
the band didn't get any gigs until
2004. When
Manni
Hirschfanger-Bernstein joined the band in early
2004 the band quickly became an underground
hit in
Hamilton. The
lead singer is
Mike Stradwick the rest of the band changes
often, they mostly do covers of
Led Zeppelin songs but, they have written a few
of their own. They enjoy a small, cult following in
Hamilton but, have failed to gain
notoriety elsewhere.
Mike Stradwick has announced that he and his
band will be doing a cross-Canada tour in early
2006. They have recently added an unknown rapper
by the name of
Dejuan Freemanto their lineup.
Manni
Hirschfanger-Bernstein Leaving the Band
On April 5th
Manni Hirschfanger-Bernstein,
the bands main songer writer, left the band and returned to his
native
Stuttgart,
Germany. While the true reason he left is still
unknown, many have speculated that it was over
Mike Stradwick's racist
song "Wacky Paky Tabbaky" in which
Mike Stradwick makes reference to
"smoking" every "paki" that he meets. Another reason could also be
because, Manni is an observant Jew and was frequently asked to fill
in for band members on days that conflicted with his religious
schedule. Manni sometimes played the bass for the band, when the
current bassist was away. Manni may still be writing songs for the
band, although this is not confirmed as of yet.
